*A...Simply Vitamin A
Vitamin A helps to hydrate the upper and lower layers of skin. Vitamin A properties can help aid in the prevention of sunburn; acting as a moderate sunscreen in pill form. It prevents sun damage by interrupting the process that breaks down collagen. However, I do not advise using Vitamin A alone for sunscreen. ***
Vitamin A is also known to help burns, cuts, and scrapes heal, as well as, treat the oil glands around your hair follicles promoting stimulation for strength and growth.
*ANTIOXIDANTS
Antioxidants help repair your skin. Some Examples of antioxidants include vitamins C and E, selenium, and carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, lycopene, lutein, and zeaxanthin. Some antioxidants may interact with some medications. ***Please check with your PCP before consumption***
Two of the best sources of antioxidants are fruits and vegetables. According to the NIH, 'Vegetables and fruits are rich sources of antioxidants. There is good evidence that eating a diet that includes plenty of vegetables and fruits is healthy, and official U.S. Government policy urges people to eat more of these foods.
Research has shown that people who eat more vegetables and fruits have lower risks of several diseases; however, it is not clear whether these results are related to the amount of antioxidants in vegetables and fruits, to other components of these foods, to other factors in people’s diets, or to other lifestyle choices.'
