The importance of exfoliation

Updated: Nov 27, 2020

Exfoliation of ones skin has become part of a facial routine for some, however, it isn't necessary. The process of exfoliation is rather easy.

  1. Soften your skin by using lukewarm water.

  2. While maintaining gentle pressure, apply a scrub of your choice to your face using circular motions. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072J77FVC/?tag=aiponsite-20&linkCode=ic5&ascsubtag=amzn1.infl.us.product&creativeASIN=B072J77FVC&ref=exp_influencer-8cf1cfda_dp_vv_d

  3. Rinse thoroughly.

  4. Pat dry. Do not rub or wipe your face dry.

  5. Apply your favorite moisturizer. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000052YOX/?tag=aiponsite-20&linkCode=ic5&ascsubtag=amzn1.infl.us.product&creativeASIN=B000052YOX&ref=exp_influencer-8cf1cfda_dp_vv_d

Regular exfoliation helps to stimulate collagen synthesis which improves the skin's texture, integrity. It also keeps the skin looking plump, tight, and young. Dead skin cells can also reduce the penetration and absorption of your skincare routine products like moisturizers, serums and sunscreen.

Don't feel bad if your not an avid exfoliator or you don't feel confident about your exfoliating habits. Our skin naturally exfoliates itself every 28 days. In most cases it is not necessary to accelerate the exfoliating process unless you have some of the following skin issues:

  • Flakey dry skin

  • Break outs (i.e. Acne)

  • Sun/Age spots

  • Dullness

  • Uneven tone

  • Rough skin
